Year:1999
Color:Sorrel
Gender: Stallion
Description:

“Texas” had a short but successful show career as a young horse down south. We got him from Pates in Buffalo, Texas, and have enjoyed riding his colts. He puts a lot of speed and trainability into his offspring. They are natural and complete athletes.

He sired the high-selling gelding, Marlin, in our 2023  gelding sale. He is also the sire to Whiskey, who is owned and ridden by Erich Rogers. Rogers won Salinas, California, and the Spicer Grip Open heading on him in 2024 as a five-year-old. He previously placed 2nd on him at Salinas the year before as a 4-year-old.

Texas was an AQHA Open Performance ROM earner with 15 points in heading and 16.5 points in heeling. He is for sure a real deal sire!

Texas is a son of the legendary stallion, Oklahoma Fuel, who is one of only a few horses to have run AAA at all seven official AQHA distances with a Speed Index of 108. He is also a paternal brother to Oklahoma Top Hat, “Scooter”, who was PRCA head horse of the year 6 times!
